Child Safety Procedures
A Safe, Open and Trusted Environment for Every Child
Every parent wants to know their child is safe, nurtured and cared for by people they trust. At Northside Preschool, creating a secure and transparent environment isn’t just a requirement—it’s at the heart of everything we do.
We have clear, uncompromising child-safe practices that give families confidence and ensure every child can learn, play and thrive in a caring environment.
An Open and Transparent Preschool
We believe trust is built through openness. Our learning spaces are designed with visibility in mind, and we welcome parents to be active partners in their child’s learning. Families are encouraged to visit, ask questions and see our programs in action. We are proud of what we do every day and believe transparency strengthens our community.
Always Visible, Always Supported
Children are always cared for within a team environment. Our educators work together throughout the day so that supervision is continuous and interactions remain visible. Daily routines, transitions and quieter moments are carefully planned to ensure children are always supported within a safe and collaborative setting.
Technology Used Safely and Responsibly
Our educators’ full attention belongs with the children. Personal mobile phones, smartwatches and cameras are not used within our learning environments. Any photos or updates shared with families are captured only on secure, centre-owned devices through our approved parent communication platform.
Carefully Selected Educators
We know that outstanding early education begins with outstanding people. Every educator holds a valid Working With Children Check, but our recruitment process goes much further. We complete comprehensive reference checks and ongoing professional reviews to ensure every team member demonstrates the professionalism, integrity and values that reflect our child-safe culture.
A Culture Where Every Voice Matters
Creating a safe environment is a shared responsibility. Our educators receive ongoing training in child safety, safeguarding and the latest ACECQA guidelines. We foster a workplace where every team member is encouraged and supported to raise concerns, ask questions and act immediately if something doesn’t feel right. Open communication, accountability and continuous improvement are fundamental to how we care for children every day.
